Crop a PDF
Drag the box to cut away margins and white space, on every page or just one. Your file never leaves this device.
or drop a PDF here
Stays on your phone or computer. Only you see it.
Drag the box, or let us find the edges
Drag the corners or edges of the box over the page, with your mouse or your finger, or drag inside it to move it. Prefer exact numbers? Type the Margins in mm instead.
Tap Trim white margins and we look at the page, find where the text and pictures start and end, and crop to that with a thin white edge left around it. With All pages, we look at every page and keep a box that cuts nothing off any of them. It works best on PDFs made on a computer. On a scan, specks of dust near the edge count as content, so check the box before you crop.
All pages or just one
All pages crops every page by the same margins. This page only gives each page its own box: crop page 1, go to page 2 with the arrows and crop it differently. Pages you leave alone are not changed. Pages that are turned sideways are cropped the way you see them on screen. If a page is the wrong way round, rotate it first.
No loss of quality
Cropping only changes the visible area of each page. Nothing is turned into a picture, so text stays sharp, selectable and searchable, and the file stays about the same size. Form fields and bookmarks are kept. Cropping does not make a file smaller; to do that, use Compress PDF.
Shipping labels
If your shipping label sits on a bigger page, choose the 4 × 6 label shape and place the box over the label. The box keeps the 4 × 6 inch shape, so the cropped page fills a 4 × 6 label when your print settings scale it to fit. We have not tested this on a label printer, so print one test label first.
What we tested
On 29 October 2026 we ran this page in Chromium (automated tests, on a computer screen and a phone-sized screen with touch) with two public IRS forms. Trim white margins on all pages took under half a second for each. The 6-page W-9 went from 138 KB to 131 KB, and the 2-page Form 1040 from 215 KB to 217 KB. Every page was cropped, all 23 and 199 form fields were kept, and the text we read back from both files was the same as before. Pages turned sideways were cropped the way they are shown.
What cropping does not do
Cropping hides everything outside the box, but it is still inside the file. Someone with the right PDF software can bring it back or copy its text out. To remove private details for good, use Redact PDF. To remove whole pages, use Delete pages.
How it works
- 1Choose your PDF
- 2Drag the box, or tap Trim white margins
- 3Tap Crop PDF and download
Questions
Can I crop all pages at once?
Yes. Leave All pages on and every page is cropped by the same margins. Tap Trim white margins to let us pick a box that fits the content of every page. Choose This page only to crop pages one at a time.
Will cropping make the PDF blurry?
No. Only the visible area of each page changes. Nothing is re-drawn or turned into a picture, so text and drawings stay as sharp as before and text can still be selected.
Is the cropped part really gone?
No. It is hidden, not removed. It is still inside the file, and someone with the right PDF software can bring it back or copy its text out. For names, numbers or anything private, use Redact PDF, which removes what you cover.
Can I crop a PDF on my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser, choose the PDF from Files or Downloads, and drag the box with your finger. We tested it on a phone-sized screen with touch in Chromium (an automated test), not yet on a real iPhone or Android phone.
How do I crop a shipping label to 4 × 6?
Choose your label PDF, tap 4 × 6 label under Shape, and drag the box over the label. Its corners keep the 4 × 6 shape. Tap Crop PDF, then print with the paper size set to 4 × 6 and the scale set to fit.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is opened and changed inside your own browser, on your own device. Your file is never sent to a server. You can check: turn on airplane mode after the page loads, and everything still works.
Is it really free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark. Because your device does the work, it costs us almost nothing to run.
