When do you need a PDF under 100 KB?
Many exam, scholarship and government job portals only accept documents up to 100 KB, often for certificates, income or address proofs and ID cards. A phone scan of one page is usually 1 to 3 MB, so it has to shrink a lot.
How we get it under 100 KB
First we shrink the photos inside the PDF and keep the text sharp. If that is not enough, each page is saved as a lighter image, using the best quality that still fits.
We aim a little under 100 KB, so the file passes whether the website counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
Tips if it will not fit
Upload only the pages they ask for (use Split PDF), scan in black and white instead of colour, and crop away empty borders before you make the PDF. One page at 100 KB is easy; ten pages is hard.
How it works
- 1Choose your PDF
- 2We aim for under 100 KB (you can change it)
- 3Download it and upload it to your form
Questions
Will my PDF still be readable at 100 KB?
Yes for one or two pages. We always keep it readable, and we tell you if a long document cannot get that small.
Can I upload several pages under 100 KB?
Usually yes for short documents. With many pages, each page gets less space and the text gets softer. Split it if the form allows separate files.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is opened and changed inside your own browser, on your own device. Your file is never sent to a server. You can check: turn on airplane mode after the page loads, and everything still works.
Is it really free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark. Because your device does the work, it costs us almost nothing to run.
