Resize a photo to under 50 KB

The 20 to 50 KB photo rule
Many exam and job application forms ask for a recent passport-size photo between 20 and 50 KB, often at a set size such as 200 × 230 pixels. Tick the smallest size and choose Exact pixels to match it exactly.
Framing your face
With Exact pixels and Crop to fill, drag the photo in the preview so your face sits in the middle, with a little space above your head. A plain, light background works best.
Clear, not blocky
We keep the quality high and reduce the pixels first, so faces stay natural even at 50 KB.
How it works
- 1Choose your photo
- 2We aim for under 50 KB (add pixels if the form asks)
- 3Download the JPG and upload it
Questions
My photo is under 50 KB but the form still rejects it. Why?
The form may also check the pixel size or a smallest size. Choose Exact pixels with the numbers from the form, and tick the smallest size if it has one.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is opened and changed inside your own browser, on your own device. Your file is never sent to a server. You can check: turn on airplane mode after the page loads, and everything still works.
Is it really free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark. Because your device does the work, it costs us almost nothing to run.
